Where possible, Brentwood Park Kindergarten will allocate the child to first preferred group selected by families.
The following are the criteria adopted by Brentwood Park Kindergarten when considering the allocation of a child to the group for all on-time enrolments and group allocation forms.
(a) First priority will be given to Children who fall within Department of Education’s priority of access criteria as outlined on both MIKA and Department of Education websites.
(b) Further considerations for remaining group allocations will be at the Committee of Management's discretion, and may include, but is not limited to:
- Children who have previously attended Brentwood Park Kindergarten
- Children requiring a second year of 3YO or 4YO Kinder
- Needs of individual children
- Needs of the group to cohesively function as a unit
- Parental work circumstances
Group Allocation is a process that involves consultation with our teaching team as they have essential insight to the needs of individual children and groups.
Brentwood Park Kindergarten seeks to give all families their Group Preference, however, in the event of an excess of requests to one particular group, and families being in similar positions ie working circumstances, Brentwood Park Kindergarten will conduct a ballot to assign families.
If your circumstances change and/or you are no longer able to attend the days your child has been allocated to, you can either:
- inform Brentwood Park Kindergarten that you no longer require a space at the kinder as your child's appointed group no longer suits your family’s schedule, this will result in un-enrolment from the kinder and your place may be offered to a waitlisted family.
- request a change in group, however, this is subject to availability. If there are no available spaces in your desired group then we are not able to facilitate a change in group. You will remain enrolled at Brentwood Park Kindergarten in your original group and we will place your child on a waitlist where we will contact you in the event that a place opens up in your desired group.
Decisions on Group Selections by the Committee of Management are final.

TODDLER GROUP - $165 per term
Brentwood Park Kindergarten offers a play-based activity group designed specifically for toddlers and their parents/grandparents. Our toddler group is run by a qualified educator and is held in our 3yo kinder room, making it an ideal transition to kindergarten. Activities are carefully planned and offer a range of experiences including sensory, imaginative and creative.
