ABOUT MIKA

The Maroondah Integrated Kindergarten’s Association (MIKA) is a not-for-profit association in the City of Maroondah. 

MIKA has a service agreement with Maroondah City Council to implement and manage the Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme (CRES) for its member kindergartens.

CRES is a best practice model to support families and carers to secure a kindergarten place for their child. The CRES is a collaborative model that brings together Council, service providers, Maternal and Child Health (MCH) staff, support services and other stakeholders. The system provides a single point for families to apply for multiple kindergarten services within a local government area and ensures the process is streamlined, fair and equitable.

MIKA currently has 21 member kindergartens and is run by a volunteer Committee of Management who employ a Central Registration Officer and a Bookkeeper.
